Part-time program of study Drawing & Painting

If you want to develop your skills further and have always dreamed of enrolling in an art program, but cannot completely give up your day job or have other responsibilities then our part-time program is perfect for you. We offer three different enrollment options so that anybody can have the opportunity to work on their creative career parallel to their day-to-day life.

In this program, too, students begin with realistic drawing and can, if they desire, continue on to the advanced course in painting.

Part-time program of study Drawing & Painting

Program encompasses at least 9 hours of study per week

Who should apply?
Novices as well as professional artists, who have specialised in Digital Art (Gaming & Film), Illustration, Design, Architecture or Tattoo Art, will benefit from studying with us. Anybody over 18 years of age is welcome.

When can I start?
The year is divided into three trimesters, each eleven weeks long. You may start your studies at the beginning of any trimester.

How long does it take?
The foundation course “Realistic Drawing” is meant to be the basis for a specialization in Realistic Painting. However, you decide whether the foundation course is enough for your purposes or if you would like to continue on to the main program of study. To complete both parts you will need approximately three years. (As we offer a four-pronged model of part-time attendance, the total amount of time needed can vary. In addition, the level of your personal engagement can also influence the time you will need to complete all course work.)

Fees
Depending on which model of attendance you choose, your monthly fees will be:

12 hours/week: 360,00 €
9 hours/week: 283,50 €

Curriculum
Instruction centers on studio practice. You will complete similar projects to the students enrolled full-time. The program neither includes figure painting in the long pose nor theoretical instruction.
Just like the foundation course, units build on each other. Students use sculptures as models for their painting. Initially, students begin painting in grisaille (black/white) and slowly work their way towards expanding their palette until they reach the full color spectrum. Through practice, students learn the application of color, the use of light and shadow, as well as cool and warm tones–from the underpainting to the finishing coat.
